Hello everyone! I was recently inspired to take risks with my wardrobe and try to create new looks. I wanted to do that by layering. It can be pretty hard to layer in the spring because one day it could be cold and the other day could be hot and you don't want to be caught on a hot day layering but that is what fashion is all about, taking risks. Plus if you do try a layered outfit and it then gets hot while you're out then you can easily remove a layer.

With all that being said I want to show you two different ways I tried to layer these outfits and create a new look.

Dress turned Corset

I've had this black dress for a long time and it's one of my favorites to wear because it's easy to dress up and down. When I want to look more casual I opt to wear a short sleeved shirt underneath to make it look less feminine and pair it with sneakers as you can see down below.

Now for this look I wanted to take the dress and layer it on top of a longer sleeved item. When looking through my closet I came across this green button-down blouse and I thought this could be perfect.

The button down is a bit more fancy/professional but pairing it with jeans and the dress turned corset really makes it more trendy.

I did have to roll the dress up so if it seems that I have a hump just know it's from the extra fabric of the dress.

Above on the left is what the dress originally looks like. It's a decent length to where you can turn it into a corset like I did or even tuck it into jeans.

The rest of the fit

I really liked this outfit because it definitely feels trendy. My only regret is that I wished I had taken shots of this outfit in the city to get a more city vibe but this will do for now.

I paired my top with some dark washed blue jeans from Ross which sometimes Ross jeans are a hit or miss because they collect jeans that haven't sold in big department stores. With that when I try on jeans sometimes they fit and sometimes they don't. When I bought these jeans they were a little tight and are getting a little tighter but they do make my legs look good!

Then for accessories I went with my black Michel Kors purse and black booties from Charlotte Russe which created a more sleek look.

Dress Turned Skirt

Okay so I was really into dresses for layering which I think it's one of the easiest pieces to layer because there is just so much you can do.

For this look I took an off-the-shoulder dress as you can see above, tied the sleeves and turned it into a skirt. I then took this long-sleeved turtleneck and used it for my top. To add a bit more personality I tied it up in the front and paired it with white converse.

I felt that this look was really girly with the floral print but with me tying up my shirt and wearing converse it sort of brought a different image to the girly look.
