Hello everyone and welcome back to my blog.
Over Easter weekend I posted a boomerang to my Instagram stories showing my natural hair blown out. It received a lot of love and a couple of questions as to what products that I use so I decided to make a whole blog post about it.

I think I have type 4B/4C natural hair which I still have not found the right hair type I have but overall my hair is super kinky, coily and curly so I have to use certain products along with certain hair methods to make it flourish.
I made a prior blog post about my wash day routine (which you can check out right here) but didn't go into full detail about the products that I use so in this post I will explain why I like and use each product.

Okay you all let's start off with the shampoo. At first I didn't care about what shampoo I used as long as it just cleansed my scalp but lately I have been using the Jamaican Black Castor Oil Shampoo by SheaMoisture and it changed my life. So Jamaican black Castor Oil is said to thicken/strengthen your hair as well as help it grow and my hair has grown a lot over the past year.
Now when using this shampoo what I really like to do with it is that after I apply it to my scalp I like to massage my scalp in circular motions because I do hear that can help promote hair growth as well. So if you are looking for a really good shampoo then I highly recommend this one.

Deep Conditioners

If you are not already then I highly recommend deep conditioning for all my curly girls out there. Deep Conditioning helps prevent damage and bring some moisture back to your hair. My favorite deep conditioners are the 100% Virgin Coconut Oil Rehydration Treatment Masque and the Yucca & Plantain Anti-Breakage Strengthening Masque. What I usually do is that after I shampoo I will apply the deep conditioner while twisting out my hair. I will usually let it sit for about ten minutes if I need to go faster or forty-five minutes if I have some time on my hands. The moisture comes right back to my hair and upon rinsing I can feel the softness.

I really just use conditioner to detangle my hair because the more curly your hair is the more tangled it gets. I use the Aussie Moist Conditioner because it moisturize my hair as well and it's a huge bottle with a lot of conditioner in it for a rather low price of around five dollars. Also it has a little pump which makes it easier to use when washing. At this point I'm just pointing out little details but it matters when it comes to wash day.

Leave-In Conditioners

I use a lot of different conditioners but I like to use leave in conditioners to help keep moisture in my hair during the day because my hair does dry out fast. I like to use the Jamaican Black Castor Oil Strengthen & Restore Leave-In Conditioner by Shea Moisture because it just does wonders for my hair. After I am done washing I will use this leave in conditioner to twist up my hair or do any other protective style. It definitely holds the moisture in for a solid three or four days before I have to apply some more for some rejuvenation.

Shampoo, deep conditioners, regular conditioners and leave in conditioners are usually what I use every week upon wash day but there are a couple of products that I really like but only use on occasion.

Manuka Honey & Yogurt Hydrate + Repair Protein Power Treatment by SheaMouisture

When my hair is extremely dry and damage I like to use a protein treatment to help bring back life to my hair. With that being said I use and have only used the Manuka Honey & Yogurt Hydrate + Repair Protein Power Treatment by SheaMouisture. After I use this treatment not only does my hair feel super moisturized but my curls are super defined as well. I do want to try out other protein treatments as well but I'm very content with this one.

Wash Day Wonder Pre-Cleanse Slip Detangler by DevaCurl

Like I said above my hair is super curly so sometimes I opt to de-tangle my hair before I go into washing just so I can part my hair easier. This detangler provides so much slip that it makes detangling so much easier. I usually will apply it to my strands and finger detangle as much as I can and then go in with shampoo and the rest of my routine.
